Cherry Blossom Festival
When is the festival?
The BTSCC Cherry Blossom Festival is held annually in April from 12pm–4pm. Dates are TBA every year based on possible weather conditions and other factors (see here for more info).
Can I volunteer for the festival?
Yes! The commission welcomes volunteers to lend manpower during the Cherry Blossom Festival. We ask that volunteers send a message of interest via our Contact page and attend festival planning meetings to be well prepared (please reach out in January or February of the respective year).
Can I set up a cultural activity/display booth at the festival?
The BTSCC is open to any volunteers who are interested in proposing and managing new Japanese cultural activities/displays for the festival. We ask that volunteers send a message of interest via our Contact page and attend festival planning meetings to be well prepared (please reach out in January or February of the same year). Proposals for new activity/display booths are reviewed and approved by the commission.
*Volunteers are required to give notice prior to the festival if unable to participate following approval.
Is it possible to sponsor the festival?
Individuals and businesses are able to sponsor the Cherry Blossom festival through donations to the Bethlehem-Tondabayashi Sister City.
How else can I partner/get involved with BTSCC?
You can partner with us by applying as a Host Family during our Student Exchange Program, or simply by donating to our efforts of sharing and celebrating the rich culture of our Japanese sister city of Tondabayashi, Japan!
