Student Exchange Program
How long is the exchange program?
The exchange lasts for about three (3) weeks each year. Tondabayashi students visit Bethlehem during odd-numbered years, and Bethlehem students visit Tondabayashi during even-numbered years (see here for more info).
What is required to apply?
BASD students are expected to fill out the Student Exchange Application form, as well as submit three (3) letters of recommendation and an essay (see here for more info).
Do I need to host in order to visit Tondabayashi?
Although hosting is not required, students who apply to participate in the exchange program are given priority if they host (see Host Family Application for more info).
How can I partner/get involved with BTSCC?
You can partner with us by volunteering at our Cherry Blossom Festivals, applying as a Host Family during our Student Exchange Program, or simply donating to our efforts of sharing and celebrating the rich culture of our Japanese sister city of Tondabayashi, Japan!
